WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIFE COACHING AND THERAPY? Coaching is NOT therapy, and is not a substitution for therapy. In Therapy, mental health practioners manage mental illnesses and diagnoses, coaches do not. Therapy is typically long term and focuses on the past and present, while coaching is short term and future oriented. While therapy focuses on mental health and emotional healing, life coaching focuses on setting and achieving desired changes in thinking and behaviors.

Coaching clients are responsible for creating and implementing their own physical, mental and emotional well-being, decisions, choices, actions, and results. Many people who attend therapy participate in life coaching simutaneously.

WHAT IS A LIFE COACH? Life coaches help individuals gain awareness of and clarify their personal goals and priorities, better understand their thoughts, feelings and options, and take appropriate actions to change their lives, accomplish their goals and feel more fulfilled.

Coaching offers a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for clients to clarify and achieve goals along with any behavioral changes. Coaching helps clients explore and discover what is important to them, identify what road blocks may be in their way and develop a realistic plan on how to achieve their desired goals. Coaches are skilled in deep listening and asking powerful questions to help clients define what they are truly seeking.

REASONS PEOPLE SEEK COACHING: Grief and Loss, Discovering Life Purpose, Salary & Raise Negotiation, Career Change & Advancement, Job Seeking, Improving Relationships, Setting Boundaries, Dating & Marital Issues, Coparenting, Divorce Support, Anger Management Skills, Support with Major Life Decisions, Transitions, and Crises, Specific Goal Acheivment, Learning to Respond and not be Reactive, Creating New Habits, Getting Unstuck, ETC.
